Hightail it to these new boutiques on our radar:

WHO: Juliette Hogan

WHERE: 182 Ponsonby Road, Auckland

WHAT: Bringing modern ease and elegance to the redeveloped Ponsonby Fire Station, Juliette Hogan’s new space is a lesson in refinement and top-tier Kiwi design. Envisioned by Juliette herself, executed by architect Nat Cheshire and interior designer Pip Maxwell, and featuring furniture from Simon James and fixtures by Mark Antonia, the space is at once modern and inviting, with oak floors and wooden accents lending warmth and a salon feel.

WHO: Kate Sylvester

WHERE: 134 Ponsonby Road, Auckland

WHAT: Kate Sylvester cements its cool-girl reputation with its new Ponsonby home, formerly that of landmark bar Golden Dawn. An original brick wall and textured plastering ensure the building’s raw charm remains; elsewhere, sustainable plantation-grown American oak joins with signature Kate Sylvester touches, including brass, soft curtaining and polished stainless steel.

WHO: Moochi

WHERE: 1 Havelock Road, Havelock North

WHAT: Christened with an on-theme Craggy Range collaboration and a name that pays tribute to the area’s winemaking scene, Moochi Reserve is the newest addition to the label’s retail portfolio, and as one of its largest stores in the North Island, is set to be a cornerstone location. South Islanders, look out for a Nelson store opening in September.

WHO: Zoe & Morgan

WHERE: 6B Kent Street, Auckland

WHAT: An on-point addition to Newmarket’s fashionable Osborne Lane precinct, Zoe & Morgan’s second Auckland store is a serene space in which rich green marble surfaces play off pale pink walls, and the style and symmetry of the unique furnishings and features (including custom-cut mirrors and a folding art-deco screen) visually complement the fine jewellery on display.
