Preparations for ANZAC Day
The Feilding and village districts are in full preparation mode for their respective ANZAC day ceremonies and events on Tuesday 25 April. The Council’s Recreational Services team have been busy water-blasting and cleaning cenotaphs, catcher mowing servicemen’s lawn cemeteries and planting steel poppies around the base of the Feilding cenotaph.
Their team are also responsible for the strategic layout of the white crosses in the Field of Remembrance which was set up last Thursday for the releasing of the doves. A Wall of Remembrance was also set up for the Feilding community to tie poppies and messages in remembrance of loved ones to the wall.
Poppy Day will be held tomorrow on Friday 21 April. Pins and brochures will be available at the Farmers Market.
