A winter wonderland in July
Last week, our district was hit by a severe weather event. Snow hit the northern region resulting in a number of power outages, while surface flooding and slips caused a number of road closures. We appreciated your patience while the graders were out in full force to clear the blocked roads due to the snow.
It was great to see children, pets and adults making the most of the weather and the school holidays.
Events such as these are a perfect reminder to check you have a family emergency kit with all of your essential survival items up-to-date. These should include items such as a torch with spare batteries, blankets, a radio, a first aid kit and enough food and water to last for at least three days.
