World sandwich day to beat global hunger
Subway stores in Feilding, Bulls and Taihape are using World Sandwich Day to fight global hunger.
Subway chains in more than 60 countries around the world will come together on Friday for its largest fundraising event, the Subway ’’Live Feed’’, an initiative to help fight hunger globally.
Subway Manchester Street Feilding franchisee David Moarin invited the community to visit the town’s store to help raise funds for KiwiHarvest, a perishable food rescue organisation collecting food before it went to waste and distributing it to those in need around New Zealand.
Every customer who visits Subway stores around the district have the opportunity to buy a sandwich, salad or wrap, get one free for a friend and give a meal to someone in need through KiwiHarvest.
Each meal donated throughout the day will be tracked through the Subway ‘‘Live Feed’’ digital ticker.
