Fashion show back for 2016

- NATALIE POLLEY

Pukekohe’s fashion stores will get the chance to showcase their wares and help raise money for a good cause at this year’s Pukekohe Fashion Show.

The event, now in its third year, is run by the Pukekohe Business Association and over the past two years has raised $10,000 for Franklin St John.

This year’s chosen charity is Franklin Family Support.

Kendyl Sullivan, manager of the Pukekohe Business Association, said the association had received a great response from local businesses keen to participate.

‘‘So far we have four confirmed businesses: Shanton, Stirling Sports, Evolve, and Bettie Monroe,’’ Sullivan said.

‘‘We will have ten showcasing businesses and also a young designers showcase made up of students from local schools.

Diosa have also confirmed their involvement sponsoring the hair and makeup for our volunteer models.’’

Sullivan said tickets were limited to 300, to ensure audience members all had a great view of the catwalk.

‘‘Last year we had 283 people in attendance - so get in quick,’’ she said.

‘‘The positive feedback we have had over the past two years has been wonderful and we’re so thankful people look forward to this event.’’

Those attending the event will receive a goody bag, a beverage on arrival and nibbles will be provided.

‘‘Anyone that enjoys shopping and fashion should attend to see what amazing fashion we have available locally in Pukekohe,’’ Sullivan said.

‘‘We also have some amazing spot prizes to be given out on the night.’’

The event will take to the Pukekohe Indian Association Events Centre on Ward St, Pukekohe on October 29.

Doors open at 6pm, for a 7pm start.
