Dr Libby talks to Pukekohe
One of Australasia’s leading nutrition specialists will end her public speaking tour in Pukekohe this month. Nutritional biochemist Dr Libby Weaver has released four new dates for her, From Surviving to Thriving: What every woman needs to know, Australasian tour, where she will share the findings from her new book,
During her Pukekohe event, which will be held on February 23 at the Pukekohe Town Hall, Weaver plans to captivate the hearts of women’s wellness, and will explore everything you need to know about how your body and mind work from a nutritional, biochemical and emotional perspective.
‘‘I’ve written this book to help women understand the ‘why’ behind some common frustrations – from the weight you can’t shift, to why you feel trapped on the ‘stress express’, or why you find it so difficult to say ‘no’ to some people,’’ she said.
The speech will cover issues such as, how to get to the heart of your emotional eating, why you crave sugar, no matter how hard you try to resist it, quick tips to get out of ‘‘survival’’ mode when you’re feeling overwhelmed and how to foster a positive relationship with food and nutrition, both for you and your children.
‘‘Being a woman is a beautiful gift – however, at times it can be easy to lose sight of this. We can often feel betrayed by our bodies, and feel as though we have no control over our thoughts,’’ said Dr Libby.
‘‘I’m passionate about helping people to lead fulfilled lives.’’
