Some of the best service in town comes from Kevens Curtains, and their award at this year’s Pukekohe Business Association’s Best in Business Awards is a testament to that.

Owner of Kevens Curtains, Christine Smith, said the Retail Award which they were presented with last month, recognised the importance of exceptional customer service and said that the award would help the company with future endeavours.

‘‘We were just blown away to get the award.

‘‘We all try so hard to please the customers and do a good job - it was a pat on the back to say, ‘you’re doing something right’.

‘‘It was an honour,’’ said Smith.

‘‘Everybody has good training and product knowledge and we listen to what our client wants.

‘‘Hopefully it’s good for us for the future.’’

Smith said for those who were undergoing house renovations, not to stress about deciding on curtains, drapes, blinds or shutters, Kevens had you covered - a service that Smith claimed to be an asset to the community.

‘‘It can be difficult for people to decide what they want, so I like being able to help the clients,’’ said Smith.

‘‘I really enjoy getting out on the road and being able to make people happy in their purchase and seeing their environment and what would work best for them.

‘‘We are right there at their finger tips.

‘‘It’s always good to support the community.’’

Kevens Curtains was originally part of Pukekohe’s iconic TE Keven and Sons until 2008 when Smith purchased the department before expanding the business and renaming it Kevens Curtains.

‘‘I am very proud of all of our staff,’’ said Smith.
