FROM THE EDITOR
Christmas is certainly on its way - there’s no getting away from the festive promotions already in shop windows enticing us to depart with our hard-earned cash.
While most of us look forward to Christmas, we may still worry about the minor stresses of sorting out Christmas dinner and deciding what gifts to buy our loved ones. But for some the stresses of Christmas take on a whole different level.
There are those who can’t afford to buy gifts, struggle to get food on the table at the best of times and face the prospect of spending Christmas alone.
That’s where we, and our communities, can help, with our Smiles for Christmas campaign.
As we report on page 1, businesses are getting behind the appeal this year, and that Christmas joy will be spread even further thanks to their generosity.
Our Christmas tree will be up nice and early this year, all set for the start of November, and we’ll be welcoming donations on behalf of Franklin Family Support from then.
