Calling foodies
Franklin foodies are on the Awhitu Country Market’s wish list for Christmas.
Organisers of the markets are calling out for local foodies to get involved with the markets to provide an enhanced experience for visitors. The vision organisers had for the markets was to bring locals together, and provide a line up of artisans, foodies, craftspeople, growers, builders and organisations to show off their work, as well as a hub for people to catch up in the scenic setting of Awhitu.
Anyone who is passionate about organic fruit and vegetables, seafood, bread and cheese makers, or smoked meat makers are keenly sought for the markets. The markets are held every long weekend, on a Sunday, but if there is enough interest, organisers would like to host the markets throughout the warmer months. If you are interested in becoming a destination for foodies, contact Michelle on 027 2800 208.
