Growing up in Whangarei, Caralee spent much of her childhood in the Bay of Islands, but she now resides on the Gold Coast with her husband Cameron and three children, where she loves riding her retro bicycle to meet friends for picnics, and attending the local farmers’ markets to find fresh produce to cook with.

Himali McInnes Himali is a family doctor based in South Auckland, who recently travelled to Mongolia with her husband Ian, who works as the CEO of Tearfund. Himali penned the social justice feature Laying Down Roots

in Mongolia about the trip on page 22. Himali unwinds by pottering about in her organic garden and has recently acquired a beehive.

Kahu de Beer Kahu is Good’s lovely new gardening writer. She is based in Mount Maunganui and first found her passion for the garden at a young age, following her grandmothe­r around in her glasshouse, planting pineapple tops and checking on them daily. Her favourite plant is wild jasmine; she credits it for having the best smell in the world.
