After working as a wilderness guide on the Milford Track and seeing the havoc that blisters wreak on inexperienced hikers, 21-year-old Lucas Smith has launched a merino wool blister protection start-up Walk On. Made from ethically farmed, hyperfine merino, the product will be available in 10 Torpedo 7 retail stores nationwide. Says Smith, “Farmers, soldiers, adventurers and explorers have been using this technique to protect their feet since the early 1900s.
