Sophie Merkens
Sophie lives a life of curiosity and wanderlust. Her latest explorations have included solo cycling the length of Europe, living in a cave on a Spanish Isle, and most recently cycling Central Asia. Her goal is to pedal into Mongolia to experience, firsthand, local nomadic life. She is inspired by intentional, green living. After travelling, her dream is to live in a yurt in Aotearoa with a large vegetable garden, and to keep bees. Sophie is an avid foodie and loves getting inspiration and seasonal recipes from each Good issue. See her story on cave life in Spain on page 56.
Naomi Bulger
Naomi Bulger is a freelance writer and illustrator based in Melbourne, who penned the "Snail Mail" feature on page 28. She credits her nana, who was a painter, as her inspiration when it comes to illustrating. “She taught me to paint, and I still use some of her palettes and materials." Naomi loves spending time with her two small children and taking long walks exploring the hidden laneways of her city. She believes the slow living movement is primarily about mindfulness. “Our lives are incredibly busy, so I think it is very important to consciously take a step back and reflect on what matters to us."
Cola Larcombe
Cola joins the Good team as our stellar new advertising sales manager, bringing two decades of media miles working on society and culture magazines around the world. A city girl who’s gradually settled and fallen in love with the Matakana countryside, Cola loves feijoa wine, her partner’s amazing taste in music, and yoga (being a co-founder of a studio). “Now is a remarkable time to be part of an emerging conscious culture in New Zealand, and I’m excited to support this industry through Good,” she says.
