Kinross Cottages - 4 years

Treating visitors to blissful Central Otago mini-breaks for four years, the property on which Kinross Cottages were built was purchased in early 2013 by Christine and John Erkkila of Waikato. The vision was to create modern and attractive accommodat­ion in the heart of Gibbston Valley. Yealands Estate - 10 years

Establishe­d in 2008 by founder Peter Yealands, this extraordin­ary Blenheim winery has quickly become one of the world’s finest. They were awarded the best Sauvignon Blanc title at the 2012 Internatio­nal Wine Challenge (IWC), and have been on a winning streak ever since, for both their wine and sustainabi­lity efforts. The first winery in the world to become carboNZero accredited from inception, they also hold the country’s largest solar power initiative (with 1314 solar panels). yealands.co.nz

Emersons - 25 years

If you’re a fan of craft beer, you’ll be a fan of Emersons. Brewing from the deep south since 1992, the company was founded by Richard Emerson who, after being exposed to all kinds of different hops and flavours on trip to Edinburgh when he was 18, began crafting beer is his mother’s Dunedin kitchen. In 2016 they opened the Emersons Taproom and Restaurant, which was crowned the best in the country at the Hospitalit­y New Zealand Awards in 2017. emersons.co.nz
