CAFE CREDENTIALS

The hunt for the 2017 NZ Cafe´ of the Year is officially open. For the fifth year running, the awards seek to highlight the diverse, the delicious and most delightful of our great NZ cafe´ culture, shining a light on outstanding cafes across the nation. BRIGHT BRAINS

Entries for the 2016 ASB Bright Sparks competition are now open. Entry categories this year include science, engineering, environment, science and software and a share in a $10,000 prize pool is on offer for the winners. The competition is free to enter by emailing brightsparks@skills.org.nz. Entries close on September 28.

KIWIFRUIT CAREER

Two Zespri scholarships worth $15,000 each are now open and New Zealand’s top secondary students are encouraged to get in their applications to kick-start a great career in the fast-growing horticulture industry. This funding contributes to university tuition fees up to $5000 a year for three years. Two positions are available each year and applications for the 2017 scholarships close on September 25.
