Cafe owners win a trip to the home of coffee

A Te Rapa cafe´ has scooped the supreme award at the recent annual 2016 Robert Harris Cafe´ Franchise Awards.

Korina and Steve Verkley, owners of Robert Harris Cafe´ in Te Rapa, were named as Franchisees of the Year and have won a trip to Italy - the home of coffee. The talented two also took home the award for Coffee Passion, which acknowledges their pursuit of excellence in the art of coffee making.

Held in Christchurch, the awards bring together the 42 cafe´s in the Robert Harris Cafe´ Network and acknowledge outstand- ing service and achievement.

Franchisee of the Year was awarded to the Te Rapa cafe´ as it proved to be an example for other franchisees to follow, said franchise manager David Thackery.

‘‘Steve and Korina have worked hard both in and on the business, continually learning and trying new initiatives. They are always continuing to grow and pursue excellence.’’

Steve Verkley said winning the awards was a great achievement for the team.

‘‘Our passion for coffee is reflected throughout our team who constantly work towards delivering outstanding hospitality to our customers,’’ he said.
