AN END TO 1080
NZ First leaderWinston Peters is promising an end to the use of 1080 if his party forms part of the next Government. Peters made the comment announcing his party’s four pest control initiatives.

Hamilton City Council has $12m of unbudgeted costs. The expenses prompted mayor Andrew King to propose a 12 per cent rate rise which was later rejected by his councillors. But the mayor, the council’s chief executive and councillors have offered different reasons behind the proposed rates hike.

Artist were let loose around Hamilton’s walls at the weekend for the Boon Street Art Festival. The festival aims to provide a chance for artists to showcase their talents while adding a splash of colour to the city.
DRUG USE
Waikato DHB is worried about the increase in methamphetamine use. The increase in the number of people using the drug is putting pressure on the DHB’s mental health facilities.
