YOUR PAPER, YOUR PLACE

-

This week we’ve worked to bring you some comments from the 10 by-election candidates contesting the Hamilton seat of the Waikato Regional Council. The seat was previously held by Lois Livingston who died last year. We’ve asked the candidates to provide their opinions on the Healthy Rivers plan and to talk about what their focus would be for the remainder of the threeyear term, if they were to be elected. We know there are lots of other important topics facing Hamilton city but we hope these two questions, and their answers from the candidates, will go some way to helping people decide who to spend their vote on. Waikato Regional Council has a special section on its website dedicated to the by-election where you can read the profile of each candidate. Contact details are also there and voters should take the time to pick up the phone and speak to the election hopefuls. Voting documents were sent out on March 20 and election day in April 11.
