The return of Old MacDonald
Wow! Waikato certainly loves the Topp Twins.
Judging by the number of entries to our earlier competition, fans were rapt to hear Jools and Lynda were bringing their Heading For The Hills Tour to Hamilton’s iconic Clarence Street Theatre.
On top of that (no pun intended!), The Topp Twins have once more teamed up with publisher Scholastic New Zealand and illustrator Jenny Cooper to release their sixth children’s book and we have a copy up for grabs.
The all-time children’s favourite Old MacDonald Had a Farm makes a lively and fun filled addition to their growing collection of picture book and CD sets.
If you don’t already know the words and actions to this favourite in schools and preschools, then get ready to learn them!
Sing along to the Topp Twins’ one-of- a-kind rendition of the song.
Cooper’s hilarious accidentprone farmer, in his gumboots and Swanndri, along with a noisy and mischievous cast of rowdy animals are sure to bring a chuckle to children and adults alike.
Since the release of their first children’s book in 2011, Lynda and Jools have remained committed to working on fun books and songs for children.
‘‘If we’re having fun and the kids are having fun and it helps them to learn to read, then it’s all good,’’ Jools said.
‘‘We’re amazed by how many kids enjoy the books as much as we do — we’re still big kids at heart.’’
Head along to Clarence St for a fun night out and then back home with Old MacDonald for some quality family time with the kids and grandkids.
