Music’s glam celebratio­n

An award-winning vocalist with a penchant for musical theatre will be the MC at Music Moves Me Trust’s latest event.

Luke Bird, a trained comedic actor and opera singer, is known for his animated character work and his role in the 2014 musical Hairspray at Skycity Theatre.

He has performed with opera sensations Ben Makisi, Lilia Carpinelli, Dame Malvina Major and Dame Helen Medlyn.

Bird has worked on Beauty and the Beast, Jekyll and Hyde the Musical, The Full Monty and Cabaret, and will perform at Takapoto Estate on March 24.

The event, called A Celebratio­n of the Senses will be an evening of music, art, wine and food, all incorporat­ing the senses of touch, taste, smell, sound and sight.

Held at Takapoto Estate, a sprawling site in Maungataut­ari, A Celebratio­n of the Senses offers live entertainm­ent, bar service and canape´s, an art exhibition and an equestrian display.

The Hamilton-based Music Moves Me Trust offers interactiv­e music and music therapy to people living with dementia.
