Stabbing arrest

A 26-year-old man was yesterday arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm in relation to a stabbing in Napier at the weekend. The incident occurred on Bledisloe Rd, Maraenui, about 9.45pm on Saturday. Police were alerted a short time later when a 42-year-old man arrived at the Wellesley Medical Centre with lifethreatening injuries. He remains in Hawke’s Bay Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The 26-yearold man has been remanded in custody and is due to appear again in Hastings District Court on October 10.
