HOUSEWIFE
THE BUSINESS OF BEING A
A big part of becoming a Real Housewife i s cashing i n on the fame. Overseas counterparts have released everything from books to wine and vodka, and their Auckland counterparts are following suit .
Spy hears fashionista Angela Stone will soon l aunch a wine, and she’s releasing a book on Tuesday. Not to be out done by Stone, on Thursday Gilda Kirkpatrick will launch her second children’s book. Champagne lady and cat rescuer Anne Batley-Burton has a whole lot of olive oil from her estate at Goose Creek in Huapai from a recent olive harvest ready to peddle.
And come October, when RHWOA is screening, Louise
Wallace will l aunch her second Tadpole Production play of the Dai year at Takapuna’s Henwood. Pumphouse Theatre.
Like Housewives, The Pink Hammer involves a group of women — unlike the Housewives, they break a nail or two. It’s about a group of women at a woodwork class.
Last week Wallace confirmed the cast for The Pink Hammer and she is beyond thrilled at the line-up of acting talent. She will be j oined on stage by Lisa Chappell, Annie Whittle, Darien Takle and Paul Glover. “People might assume that the diva factor might be strongest amongst actors . . . but watch Real Housewives of Auckland and that myth will be put to bed!” said Wallace. TV3 will be using Family Feud to bolster
The Block and The Housewives. In early August, Dai Henwood will juggle The Block girls against the boys, then i t will be the Bachelorettes vs The Real Housewives.
TV3 would not confirm which Housewives, but Spy understands Fleur Verhoeven, Erin Higgins, Kate Cameron and Gab Davenport took the honour of opposing the newbie reality stars.
