RICHLIST WEDDING

-

Laura Myers, 36, the younger daughter of one of New Zealand’s wealthiest men, Kiwi expat billionaire Sir Douglas Myers, is to marry her fiance Ross Davies in Hampshire at the end of the English summer. Booklet-style invitations have arrived for Laura’s friends and family in Auckland and her Auckland-based mum Stephanie Overton is said to be excited about her daughter’s pending nuptials. Myers grew up in Auckland before attending the US’ Ivy League Brown University. After spending time back in New Zealand, she moved to London several years ago, where she set up a classic fashion line called Atea Oceanie, based in trendy Knightsbridge. Over the past several years, her father, Sir Douglas, has been battling terminal bowel cancer. He has been fighting the disease with aggressive new treatments, including the latest immunotherapy medicines. Sources say he is fighting fit to give his daughter away at her mid-September wedding.

Sir Douglas has a 200-year-old country estate in Farnham, Surrey, where some guests may be invited to stay. The wedding is in close proximity in Hampshire, however, the venue for the nuptials is being kept under wraps. We say, expect a honeymoon in New Zealand this summer. Earlier this year the fashion designer told

Harper’s Bazaar she had been home for a month.

“I spent a few days in Auckland at the start of my trip and then our family farm in Northland for two weeks. I ended my trip with a couple of days in Queenstown with all of my old friends for a wedding.”
