ALL BLACK STAR’S FASHION STATEMENT
All Black legend Jerome Kaino has teamed up with his three brothers — Ben, Kaino and
Bruce — to launch the new spring/summer street clothing range KNO Brothers. The small street label this week has jumped into the mainstream.
Ben heads the company and design team, with heavy input from his sportsmen siblings. Elder brother Kaino (who recently made his pro-boxing debut on the undercard of the Joseph Parker vs Solomon Haumono heavyweight bout) is the one with the eye for ring-style gear, whereas Jerome and Bruce, (recently returned from a three-year stint with French rugby club CS Vienne) have given their off-the-field flair to the label.
The KNO Brothers collaboration was launched online this week with an invitation for customers to “Be part of the KNO squad at www.knobrothers.nz”
The clothing range was named as a dedication from the brothers to their hardworking parents, and the sacrifices they made for the family. KNO aims to be a streetwear range Kiwis can identify with, and one that will stand out from established brands in what is a busy marketplace.
“Family is everything to me so seeing my brother start up this clothing label to represent our family is awesome,” Jerome told Spy.
KNO Brothers has joined forces with VE Management, owned and operated by
Chrissy Ve, to collaborate on the edgy Spring lookbook. Spy’s very own Norrie
Montgomery was commissioned to capture images for the street-style catalogue. “Seeing my brother start up this clothing label to represent our family is awesome.”
“Through my work with Duco, with the boxing and the Brisbane Tens, I got to know the boys well. The brothers’ love of family and street style has created a new wide ranging sensational brand.” Ve said.
Jerome, 33, last night lined up for the All Blacks against the Wallabies at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium, earning his 71st test cap.
