DAD’S THE WORD FOR WILL HALL

-

Westside star Will Hall feels extremely blessed to be a dad.

In May, baby son Fred had surgery at Auckland’s newborn intensive care unit when it was revealed his oesophagus was not connected to his stomach.

Hall and his lovely wife Sarah are thankful that everything is now fine for their gorgeous 4-month-old. The actor loves having a captive audience to sing to and practise his lines on, and says he can tell by a blink or a smile from his son whether he is bombing.

“Baby fashion and toys are so cool, I have to stop myself getting carried away. I’ve bought so much Star Wars stuff for Freddie, he’s probably going to turn out to be a Trekkie!,” Hall said. “The intensity and attachment I feel to this new little human is quite overwhelming — as is the huge feeling of responsibility. I have been trying to learn as much as I can from my dad and Sarah’s dad, so I can teach my son.” Just in case Fred asks, Hall has started doing home handiwork so he knows his way around a hammer. But he joked: “If Fred takes after either of his grandads, tools are going to be very important to him, as sadly Fred’s dad is lacking in this area.

“I have to say, the dreaded ‘ Dad bod’ is sadly true. I had to hand in my Les Mills’ membership this week after being a member since the late 90s — this was a sad day.”

Hall’s ‘Dad bod’ is there for all to see, as he is appearing in a Jockey campaign, along with some of New Zealand’s highest-profile rugby players. And look out for him in Episode 5 of TV One’s

Hillary drama series, where he plays Murray Ellis, chief engineer on the Antarctic expedition.
