Layovers — could they be worth it?

The world’s longest flight is Emirates’ route from Auckland to Dubai, clocking up a whopping 8824 air miles. And once you’re there, it may be worth your while to have a stopover, research by Telegraph

Travel reveals. It found booking a long-haul flight with a stopover can save travellers up to $1700. By comparing 80 different return flights — 40 direct and 40 indirect routes — they found those wiling to put up with long layovers would save an average of $400.
