The Barrett boys’ selection for the All Blacks hasn’t just been celebrated by their parents
Kevin and Robyn Barrett and the Taranaki rugby community.
Current first-five Beauden — who has now played 46 tests at the age of just 25 — will be joined on the All Blacks’ end of year tour of America and Europe by younger brothers Scott, 22, and Jordie, 19.
The trio’s selection was confirmed on Sunday and among those cheering on the family success were the boys’ partners;
Hannah Laity (Beauden), Hannah McCulloch (Scott) and Alice Marshall (Jordie).
Beauden and Laity — a tax specialist — spent a few days in Auckland after last Saturday’s recordbreaking test win over the Wallabies, with the star No 10 tweeting on his brothers’ inclusion “Proud day for the Barrett family. Congrats to my little brothers Scott and Jordie!” After the team announcement, McCulloch posted a picture of herself with Scott, with the message: “Congratulations to Scotty B for getting the call up #hardworkpayshardworkpaysoff #proud #Allblacks.” Scott was there when McCulloch, a keen sportswoman herself, graduated from Lincoln University last y year after completing a Bachelor of Agriculture d degree.
