Tourism spend up

Overseas visitors to New Zealand spent $10.1 billion last year, a 4 per cent rise from 2015. The figures released by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment reveal $6.4b of that figure involved spending by tourists, up 10 per cent. Those visiting family and friends spent $2.1b, and a further $716 million was spent by people here on business trips.
