HITS AND MISSES: AMANDA TITO
HIT I spent three days in Belgium and had an absolute ball. It was during winter and everything was smothered with a beautiful chill. I could only walk the length of a few buildings before I had to duck into a shop to take cover from the cold, but it was all worth it. The architecture and richness was amazing. I accidently stayed past public visiting times in one of the oldest churches in Brussels, then got to sit in on the service — which was rad. Oh, and so much good beer, I went to a bar with more than 300 different beers. Top notch. MISS This is hard because I always find a way to explore and enjoy new places. I suppose If I had to name a miss, it would be the French railway. I was travelling with a friend and ended up squashed for four hours in the baggage section of the train, with a gentleman encouraging his young son to laugh at my friend and me because we couldn’t speak fluent French. But the countryside was beautiful, and we stayed in a stunning little place called Quimper — which was in fact one of my favourite places on the trip. The food was divine — cider and crepes galore.
