FINDING LOVE IN LA

-

Former Shortland Street actress Elizabeth Dowden’s star is on the rise, with a role in the upcoming third season of Westside and on an Americanan Playboy docuseries, screening on the Amazon network.

As Outrageous Fortune folklore has it, Cheryl West met husband Wolf at the age of 16 when her sister Jeanette wass dating him. Cheryl stole him from her sister and fell pregnant. Speculation has it that Dowden may have scored either of the two roles in Westside.

Dowden, a dead ringer for Hollywood A List actress Kate Bosworth, will turn heads in her star turn in the American Playboy series: Thehe

Hugh Hefner Story, which she secretly filmed along with quite a cast of fellow Kiwis in Auckland last year.

Matt Whelan plays Hef while Dowden plays Dorothy Stratten, the Canadian Playmate Hefner mentored. Stratten worked as a bunny at The Playboy Club in Los Angeles and in 1980 was named “Playmate of the Year”. She was about to leave her husband, fellow Canadian Paul Snider, for director Peter Bogdanovich, but Snider brutally murdered her.

After such a role, the call of Hollywood beckoned for Dowden, who moved to LA late last year.

“It was really interesting to play an iconic character of pop culture history, who has been played by o other actresses in different TV [ shows] and films,” Dowden told Spy.S “There hasn’t been a better time to be over here as a Kiwi actress as th there are so many more TV shows beingbe cast now because of networks likelik Amazon.” TheT young actress is loving life in HollywoodHo and has evidently fallen in llove with Matthew Felker, an AmericanAm writer, producer, actor, and mo model. Felker once dated actress MinMinnie Driver and has also been linkedlinke with Halle Berry, Selma Blair, Jennifer Aniston and Kate Winslet. The pair had a romantic time in Malibu last weekend and regularly post pictures of their rescue dog Rosie, who has her own Instagram page — but of course! Dowden told Spy Felker “is very excited to explore NZ and all its beauty”.
