Lasting treasures

In a stunning gesture of generosity, Sir Peter Snell last week donated some treasures from his athletics career to Te Papa for all to enjoy. The three-time Olympic gold medallist gave 14 items including Olympic golds, trophies and a shoe he wore at the 1960 Rome Olympics. The treasures from the 78-year-old who inspired a generation will be a large part of a special exhibit.
