Day ignores Tiger after US Open horror show
Tiger Woods is in a rehab clinic trying to recover from his addiction to prescription drugs, but he is still finding it within himself to offer advice to his young professional rivals. Jason Day, the former world No 1, revealed that Woods contacted him with pointers during last week’s US Open, despite having being admitted to a facility after being found asleep at the wheel. Woods, 41, is awaiting a court appearance after being arrested and charged for driving under the influence and confirmed on Tuesday that he has sought help for a dependence on pain-killing drugs. “Tiger texted me after I shot 79 [in the first round at Erin Hills] and said, ‘Hey, before you work on something call me because I saw something’,” Day said. “I was like, yeah, you saw 79 shots. I didn’t call him because I was so angry.”
