MID HAUL

-

Getting slightly more adventurous and heading out on the Ho Chi Minh trail from Hanoi to Hoi An, developed as a trade route during the Vietnam War. intrepidtravel.com/nz/vietnam

Eating: As much as possible, as I’ll be burning plenty of calories cycling up to 70km each day. A refreshing pho will be just the ticket.

Drinking: A Nuoc Mia — freshly squeezed sugar cane juice — served with calamansi, a local sour lime. Apparently it’s rich in electrolytes so will help fight dehydration.

Staying: In the lap of luxury at Fusion Maia Resort, Da Nang (about 45 minutes from Hoi An), where spa treatments are included so I can have unlimited massages on my overworked legs at the end of the trip. maiadanang.fusion-resorts.com
