Miami Nice

- generatorhostels.com

The next time we’re in Florida, we’re definitely staying at the new Generator Miami, which opened on Wednesday on Collins Ave in the heart of the South Beach neighbourhood. It’s the first US property for the UK-based hipster hostel chain that offers design-led accommodation at budget prices. This is its first “resort”, meaning there is a pool, loungers and access to the beach. Generator Miami is housed in the former Atlantic Princess apartment building which dates from the 1940s and promises a fusion of “old American glamour with a taste of Cuban spice”. The majority of the rooms are private, starting from just US$95 ($140), while beds in a four or six bed dorm (female-only available) start from US$24. Bike and skateboard hire is available too.
