only with a slightly broader remit. In this week’s premiere episodes the contestant­s vying for the title of Britain’s Best Home Cook have to make a burger (with at least two sides). Can you imagine Mary Berry eating a burger? This is the definition of must-see television.

10 episodes have moments that turn the supernatur­al terror up as far as it will go but it also knows when to dial it down to allow for those often overlooked things like story and character developmen­t.
