A PRIVATE FAMILY RESORT

-

Aproperty developer mindful of the detail and design built into homes and the cost required to achieve that was so impressed with this home he bought it for his own family.

Steven and his wife have two young children and became the

third owners of this circa-2009 home when they purchased it in 2016. “My experience meant I could appreciate how much thought and cost the original owners had poured into this home and the superior value it offered in this sort of price range,” says Steven.

“We looked at a lot of other properties and this one has so much – a swimming pool, a spa, a lift, a movie theatre, a bar,

superior garaging. And that’s in a fantastic location.”

The three-level concrete and plaster-with-cavity home was painstakingly conceived by its original owners, who owned a jewellery company.

It’s a very short walk from Hauraki Corner’s shops and amenities, with only about a dozen properties between it and Takapuna Beach.

A gated portico-style

pedestrian entrance and gated driveway were already in place and Steven added a new hightech alarm system.

The contour of the site means visitors walk in across stepping stones seemingly hovering over an entry pond, while the driveway curves down to the mega-sized garaging and lift on the lower level.

exterior, set within subtropically landscaped grounds. A large pivot door announces entry.

“I really started to fall in love with this home when I walked in and saw the movie theatre with its constellation of stars on the ceiling,” says Steven.

This is off an impressive central atrium, anchoring the layout. “It’s a fabulous home for entertaining” says Steven, who appreciates the great indooroutdoor flow from the kitchen lounge-dining room, which has a butler’s pantry and neighbours an additional family room. Living flows out to a Louvre Tec covered patio with spa pool, the swimming pool and manicured back lawn.

“It’s such a relaxed, resortstyle feeling, ideal for a family.”

A powder room and laundry complete this level.

A sculptural staircase or the lift access the upper level with sea views, two impressive master suites each with a balcony, ensuite access and walk-in wardrobe, plus a third bedroom. Steven’s luxury car penchant is well served by the expansive garaging on the lower level, which can accommodate four to six cars depending on size.

The wine aficionado second owners added a bar area here. There’s also an expansive ensuited fourth bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, a gym and a colossally secure lock-up built for the original owner’s precious jewellery.

Steven says the $300,000-plus he’s spent on the property includes a new sound system, heat pumps, curtaining, interior and exterior re-painting. The family are selling having fallen for another special property.

Premium agent Corey Knapp says, “This magnificent home epitomises resort-style family living and showcases extraordinary craftmanship across its very generous layout, enjoying a sought-after location with the beach just at the end of the street.”
