Melbourne studio Hecker Guthrie stripped back this Victorian house to reveal its historic character. The bathrooms (the one on page 139 is from the same home) mix modern elements and minimalist fittings with reinstated details such as ornate cast cornices, ceiling roses and mouldings, creating an elegant look that pays homage to the original dwelling. •
