A cold bleak day greeted buyers at Rongotea with a good selection of younger cattle to choose from in the weaner and yearling pens.
2 year white face steers 410 kg made $1150 ($2.80) and cross bred steers 510 kg made $1450 ($2.84).
2 year Jersey bulls 355 kg made $730 ($2.06).
2 year white face heifers 315 kg — 325 kg made up to $920 ($2.76 — $2.83).
15 month white face heifers 257 kg — 265 kg made up to $875 ($2.49 — $3.40) and cross bred heifers 260 kg — 300 kg made up to $550 ($1.83 — $1.96).
Yearling white face steers 220 kg made$620 ($2.82) and cross bred steers 152 kg made $430 ($2.82).
Yearling Friesian bulls 175 kg made $460 ($2.63), white face bulls 165 kg made $635 ($3.85), Jersey bulls 149 kg — 205 kg made up to $390 ($1.90 — $2.35) and cross bred bulls 220 kg made $490 ($2.23).
