Why Winter is a good time to get your trees serviced

-

Nestled on your comfy sofa, hot drink in hand, you’ve probably not been thinking about your cold, wet garden – it can wait until the warmer weather in Spring, right?

But Winter is the perfect time, despite the cold, to be thinking about your garden and trees.

The unpredictable Winter weather is a great reason to get your trees checked now, especially given the extreme weather events (including tornadoes) that we have been experiencing. Strong winds, heavy rain, and cold snaps can cause serious problems, particularly if a tree is old or already damaged. In severe weather, even healthy trees can be more prone to damage. If you’re concerned about any of your trees, please get an arborist to check them – it’s better to be safe than sorry!

Most trees can benefit from light pruning during the dormant season. Deciduous trees lose their leaves which means it is easier to see, and prune, dead or diseased branches. Pruning encourages new growth in spring and allows the tree to focus its energy effectively as it moves into an active growing period.

Spring, Summer, and Autumn can be an Arborists busiest times of year, meaning there are longer wait times to get your tree work done. Getting your trees assessed and worked on now means you can enjoy the benefits earlier in the warmer months.

At BeaverTree Service we recommend getting your trees checked and serviced regularly. So, while it may feel counter-intuitive during these cold and wet months, give us a call today to ensure your trees are in top condition for you to enjoy in Summer.
