Seven ventures, three months and a whole lot of great ideas went into the Kiwibank FinTech Accelerator, a 14-week business growth programme held earlier this year at Wellington’s CreativeHQ and powered by startup accelerator Lightning Lab. Co-funded by Kiwibank and Callaghan Innovation, with support from Xero, MasterCard and Microsoft, the incubator – the first in the country to focus solely on FinTech – is already producing outstanding results and helping build, launch and expand a wide variety of products.

We interviewed all the startups from 2017’s cohort to find out what they’ve learned, what’s so great about accelerators, and what goes into building a potentially worldchanging FinTech business in just a few weeks.
