Guest Room great for littlies

Create an autumn artwork

-

It is autumn already (yes, I too wonder how we managed to skip summer), and soon the leaves will start changing colour and falling to the ground in gorgeous piles of rusts and reds.

I was inspired to create this autumn artwork at a friend’s wedding recently where a tree had been drawn on art for guests to ‘‘sign’’ with their fingerprints as a novel take on a guest book.

I thought that it would be a great art activity to do with kids, particularly as a unique ( what’s more unique than your fingerprint?) gift for Mother’s Day when framed.

Yes mum, if you’re reading this, you will be receiving one.

I found all the materials at Pete’s Emporium for less than $10.

The little stamps came in sets of four co- ordinating colours.

Bailey loved this art activity – it was easy and effective.

I think we will do trees for each season and frame them together. ing activities available to entertain, as well as a kids’ menu.

There are changing facilities in both the women’s and men’s toilets so you can still have the ‘‘it’s your turn to change them’’ argument when there as a family.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays is when the guest room is available for parents with babies to relax, with Amy on hand to help out.

And Suz is in to give neck and shoulder massages between 10am and 12pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I’m also told that it’s a great place to go with the kids for brunch at the weekend as they have craft tables, colouring competitions, face painting and toys to keep the kids busy.

So next time it’s your turn to host the coffee group meet up just give them the address for the Southern Cross. 39 Abel Smith St, Wellington. thecross.co.nz
