The letter, Status quo woes, (March 27) highlighted numerous concerns from Andrew Wellum that require a response.

Mr Wellum speculates on how our city compares on a range of issues. Unfortunately all of his speculation is wrong.

He would have been welladvised to have waited a week and researched the draft Long Term Plan which was adopted at the March 29 council meeting.

The process invites all forms of input including written and oral presentation to special sessions of the council.

I hope Mr Wellum takes the opportunity as it is important his concerns are objectively addressed.

I strongly object to is his attack on the integrity of the council’s officers and staff. They are, as he is aware, not able to defend themselves.

I welcome vigorous exchange of views and values.
