Heron’s filling station

-

Editor, I saw a story ( Kapi-mana News, May 1) about the white heron that has been around so I thought I would write in.

We live in Takapuwahia and every day, several times a day since Easter, the white heron comes to be fed. It likes meat mostly, like steak and chicken, also ham, we try to feed it bread but it only wants meat.

I took a photo of it today, for example, waiting outside our kitchen window for us to throw it some meat. It also sits on the the washing machine looking in the windows to be fed and on the outdoor table.

There has only been one day since Easter that it hasn’t come and that was when the weather was bad but most days you can find it here outside the kitchen window or sunning itself on the roof.
