200 LTP letters

- By ANDREA O’NEIL

More than 200 submissions have been received on Porirua City Council’s draft Long Term Plan, the document that will guide the council’s spending for the next 10 years.

‘‘It seems to be a good number for Porirua,’’ says Mayor Nick Leggett. ‘‘I’m more interested in the quality rather than the quantity and certainly people seem to have been thoughtful in what they’ve said,’’ he says.

From his initial reading, a strong theme is support for the council doubling its spending on wastewater and stormwater infrastructure, Mr Leggett says.

Other notable feedback includes worry about council plans to cut back library hours.
