MID-TERM REPORT

-

Responsiveness: Very good

Panellists gave the mayor a near-perfect evaluation: Mr Leggett topped every category, with perfect marks in all but one (9.5/10 for effectiveness).

With not a cross word from the panel, he was praised for listening to all sides of an issue, being aware of what’s going on, and being respectful and ‘‘120 per cent’’ accessible.

‘‘His success as a mayor shows to New Zealand that we’re a vibrant and young city,’’ said a panellist. Panel verdict Accessibility: Average Effectiveness: Average Work ethic: Average Active or reactive: Reactive Responsiveness: Poor

Mr Rangi was rated the least responsive councillor and scored lowest for work ethic. He was also judged the most reactive. Several panellists questioned Mr Rangi’s accessibility and whether he even functioned as a city councillor. Another noted that he no longer lives in Porirua.

Mr Rangi received praise for involvement with Rotary and interest in Maori issues.
