Who’s to judge?
Editor,
I submit that the policy regarding headstones continue to allow for the Mongrel Mob’s right to display their insignia.
The cemetery belongs to the citizens of Porirua who are multilingual, multicultural, pluralistic in their beliefs. No one group or individual has the right to determine what will be the inscription on a specific headstone.
The inscription relates to the personal beliefs and association(s) of the deceased and as such is sacred to that person.
