Sunday, May 27 TAWA ORCHESTRA, Concert From Great Britain at 2pm at Tawa College Hall, will feature music including Hamish Maccunn’s The Land of the Mountain and Flood, arrangemen­ts of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s work from Cats and The Phantom of the Opera, themes from 007 and music from The Lord of the Dance and of Elton John from The Lion King, Beatles’ tunes, and Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstan­ce March No 4. Admission by donation. Tuesday, May 29 COLOURS ART STUDIO, Inaugural exhibition/sale at Mana Recovery. Art by 20 artists will be on display. All paintings have been created using recycled boards, canvases, paints and frames from Trash Palace. 5pm till 7.30pm, 3 Hall Rd, Kenepuru. Wednesday, May 30 SALUTE 70, Celebrate the 70th anniversar­y of the US Marines arrival in New Zealand by visiting the camp sites at Titahi Bay, Paremata, Pauatahanu­i and Judgeford on a bus tour. Enjoy presentati­ons, lunch and a screening of Gaylene Preston’s War Stories our Mothers Never Told Us at the Light House cinema. 10am till 4.30pm. Tickets $35 from Pataka reception. Saturday, June 2 SALUTE 70, Come and share stories and memories of the Marines’ time in Porirua at the Helen Smith Community Room in Pataka. There will be photos, memorabili­a, music and DVDS. 10am till 3pm.

FAIR, An awareness day for pachyonych­ia congenita is being held in support of Titahi Bay toddler Flynn Brodie, the only Kiwi known to suffer the rare the skin disease. Bouncy caste, sausage sizzle, cake stall, lolly scramble, face painting and fire brigade visit. Funds raised go towards cure research. 9.30am to noon, Titahi Bay School.

A RIGHT ROYAL DO, Plimmerton fair with a vintage flavour. Historic wedding gowns modelled, classic cars, fire engines and trains. 10am till 4pm, starting with parade from Plimmerton Boating Club to domain.
