Stretch out and relax

-

I recently started going to the Mums & Bubs class at BodyMana Pilates & Yoga in Whitby.

It is a class for mums of young children where you are able to take the kids along to play while you stretch and strengthen your body, and it is great.

Sarah, the instructor and owner of BodyMana, has the perfect mix of energy and experience, making the class both fun and physically worthwhile. She has a range of qualifications in health, psychology, fitness and nutrition, and 10 years of experience in the industry, so you know you are in safe hands in her classes.

Sarah’s enthusiasm for pilates and yoga is infectious and she is very passionate about helping people to improve their strength and mobility.

The class sizes are small, just five mums in the Mums & Bubs classes, which means Sarah is able to keep a close eye on everyone ensuring they are performing the exercises safely and correctly to get their optimum benefit.

The class is specifically tailored to us as parents of small children, focusing on strengthening the muscles we use daily, particularly when lifting and carrying children. It is also fantastic for helping with past injuries or problems brought on through pregnancy, such as a sore back and hips.

It is a different type of relax- ation to one of Sarah’s other classes where there are no children, but I always find myself leaving the class smiling and less stressed.

The kids generally play happily with all the toys and it is nice to have a chat with the other mums.
