Sewerage funds boosted

An additional $276,000 has been added to the budget for the Pauatahanui sewerage scheme. The budget increases from $1.351 million to $1.627m, with $80,000 brought forward into this financial year for design. Pauatahanui property owners will bear 50 per cent of the total cost for the scheme, spread over 25 years, with construction likely to start at the end of this year.It will involve the replacement of existing septic tanks with a storage tank and a pipe connecting the property to the main sewer line.
