Join the fair
Thousands of books will be making their way to the Kennel Club in Elsdon next month for Plimmerton Rotary’s annual book fair.
The event is being held over the weekend of March 23 and 24. Money raised will go towards the Life Education Trust or another project supported by Plimmerton Rotary.
In preparation for the fair, the club is encouraging the Porirua community to check cupboards, storage rooms and shelves for good quality used books, CDs and DVDs to support the cause.
‘‘Talk to all your friends and neighbours and encourage them to clear out the old to make room for the new,’’ Rotarian Wendy Betteridge says.
Goods can be dropped off at The Professionals Real Estate offices at Whitby Mall, 3 Lydney Place, Porirua, or 105 Mana Esplanade, Paremata.
If you have heaps of books and can’t drop them off, call 234 7116 to arrange a pick up.
The book fair will run from 9am till 4.30pm each day.
