Thou­sands of books will be mak­ing their way to the Ken­nel Club in Els­don next month for Plim­mer­ton Ro­tary’s an­nual book fair.

The event is be­ing held over the week­end of March 23 and 24. Money raised will go to­wards the Life Ed­u­ca­tion Trust or an­other project sup­ported by Plim­mer­ton Ro­tary.

In prepa­ra­tion for the fair, the club is en­cour­ag­ing the Porirua com­mu­nity to check cup­boards, stor­age rooms and shelves for good qual­ity used books, CDs and DVDs to sup­port the cause.

‘‘Talk to all your friends and neigh­bours and en­cour­age them to clear out the old to make room for the new,’’ Ro­tar­ian Wendy Bet­teridge says.

Goods can be dropped off at The Pro­fes­sion­als Real Es­tate of­fices at Whitby Mall, 3 Lyd­ney Place, Porirua, or 105 Mana Es­planade, Pare­mata.

If you have heaps of books and can’t drop them off, call 234 7116 to ar­range a pick up.

The book fair will run from 9am till 4.30pm each day.

Booka­holic: The Ken­nel Club in Els­don will be a book­worm’s mecca for two days in March.
