School plans second crafty girls’ night out

-

Women are invited to a crafty night out at Adventure School Hall next month.

The school’s second annual Women’s Expo fundraiser will again showcase local craft talent on April 5. Items for sale include kids’ accessories, jewellery, mosaics, hand- felted garments, beauty therapy, makeup, hand- crafted soaps, artwork and handbags.

Last year the evening raised $5000. This year’s take will go towards school environmental projects such as a covered walkway from the classrooms to the school hall, shade sails and vegetable plots for each class, says organiser Leigh Roberts.

Women should get a group of girls together and make a night of it for the fundraiser, she says.

Attendees will receive a glass of bubbles or juice on arrival and there will be goody bags for the first 150 ladies through the door. A cafe and wine bar will be on site for the night and there will be raffles and spot prizes throughout the evening.

Ms Roberts says it would be great to have more local wares on offer. To register a stall contact the Adventure School Parent Teacher Network on adventureschoolptni@ gmail.com.
